Global Prayer Wall

Privacy Policy

Last updated: December 18, 2025

1) Who we are

Global Prayer Wall (the “Platform”) is a prayer and community site reachable at https://kanisani.co.ke. We act as the data controller for personal data processed on the Platform. You can contact us at support@kanisani.co.ke.

2) Scope

This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard personal data when you use the Platform, including when you register, submit prayer requests/updates/comments, receive emails or reminders, or interact with ads.

3) Data we collect

4) Special-category data (religious beliefs)

Because prayer requests and updates may reveal religious beliefs or health-related information, they are considered “special-category” data under GDPR and similar laws. We only process such data with your explicit consent. You may withdraw consent at any time (see “Your rights” and “Email preferences”).

Important: Please avoid posting sensitive personal data about others without their consent. Consider omitting identifiable details when a request concerns a third party.

5) How we use your information

7) Sharing & processors

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with service providers (“processors”) who help us run the Platform, under contracts that require them to protect your data and use it only as instructed. Typical processors include:

We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the Platform.

8) Ads, cookies & similar tech

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functions, preferences, performance, and advertising. With Google AdSense, advertising cookies may be used to serve ads based on your visits. In regions that require consent (e.g., EEA/UK), ads and advertising cookies are shown only after you grant consent via our banner/flow.

You can manage cookies in your browser. In supported regions, use our consent banner to change preferences at any time.

9) Community visibility & public content

Some content (e.g., prayer requests or comments) may be visible to other registered users or publicly, depending on Platform settings. Be mindful that anything you make public may be indexed by search engines. You can edit or delete your own content, subject to technical limitations and reasonable moderation needs.

10) Retention

We keep data only as long as necessary for the purposes described here, including legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. You can request deletion of your account and content (see “Your rights”). System logs and backups are purged on a rolling basis.

11) Security

We employ technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk (e.g., TLS in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, rate-limiting, server hardening). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we work continuously to improve safeguards.

12) International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than where you reside. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your information during cross-border transfers.

13) Your rights

Your rights depend on your location, but typically include: access, rectification, deletion, restriction, portability, and objection, plus the right to withdraw consent at any time. EEA/UK users may complain to their Data Protection Authority. In Kenya you may complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC). California residents have CPRA rights, including the right to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of “selling” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising.

To exercise rights, contact us at support@kanisani.co.ke. We’ll verify your request and respond within the timelines required by law.

14) Email preferences

You can opt in/out of emails (daily reminders, community updates, replies) in your profile settings. Every non-transactional email also includes an unsubscribe link. Withdrawing consent does not affect prior lawful processing.

15) Your privacy choices (ads & “Do Not Sell/Share”)

If you are in California, you can opt out of “selling” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising using our “Do Not Sell/Share” controls (link in the footer when enabled). In EEA/UK, you can adjust ad consent via our cookie/consent manager.

16) Children

The Platform is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. In some jurisdictions (e.g., EEA), additional parental consent may be required for users under 16. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us for deletion.

17) Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you via email or in-app notice.
